Aim, Objectives and Motto
The School aims at the all round development of all the girls who cross the portals of this prestigious institution. The institution aims at providing to the pupils an all-round education – moral, academic, social and physical – based on time tested ideals and principles. Special attention is paid to the children’s well being, physical, emotional and moral.
The pupils are prepared to play an effective role in life and to appreciate true refinement of culture, especially the culture of our own country. Stress is laid on good conduct, character formation, commitment to justice, liberation of the poor, the oppressed and women in particular.
Our Motto
LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE…is our motto which encourages the students and teachers to be the light of the world. Light symbolizes knowledge and hence St.Marians are expected to be that light in the world radiating the light of truth, compassion, kindness, forgiveness, love and charity at all times and everywhere.

The lighted lamp…
The lamp with a brightly burning flame symbolizes the light of knowledge and spirit of sacrifice which expels darkness of ignorance, and strives for excellence and national progress.
The lotus…
The lotus is a symbol of purity. It blooms amongst dirt and muddy waters teaching all St. Marians to stand up against all odds at the same time retaining their purity and humility. The patroness of our school Mother Mary is the very epitome of purity. She inspires and protects each member of this SMA family holding us gently in the petals of her motherly care and love.
THE TITULAR FEAST OF THE SCHOOL
The 2nd of August, the feast of St. Mary of the Angels, is observed as the School Feast. The feast honours Mary as Queen of the Angels.
THE CHARACTER OF THE SCHOOL
This Educational Institution is run by the Franciscan Sisters of St. Mary of the Angels (FSMA), a religious charitable Order of Nuns. It has always catered to the needs of children from all communities and classes of society though it is primarily meant for the children of the Catholic Community.
